They enjoyed the climbing wall, we played the Simon Says game, seeing who could stay on the wall the longest and then a short relay race back and forth across the wall holding a plastic cup of water in their teeth and seeing which team had the most water left at the end.
It was a very chilled evening. A good break in the fresh air from exams and revision I think

Thank you very much for the suprise packet that came through the door this morning. I was doing a very boring job , ironing, when David brought me the post through from the letterbox. I had no idea what it could be and was even more mystified when I turned it over to see where it had come from. I put the iron down to look at all the pictures, it certainly took my mind back to the 1950's. The lads have certinly made massive changes and it is now a super site on which to camp. I loved the chapel it is obviously something special and looked very peaceful.
Many thanks for the calender

Spencer, and those who have helped him, have done a really great job on the site. Having the hut, tables, and benches there is a big help in reducing the amount of kit we needed to take. Also, the composting loos are a brilliant idea.

Sorry I was not allowed to fly over and take pictures due to cloudbase problems.Air Traffic Control at Gatwick refused permission even though I was at Redhill bursting to go ! We are flying at Redhill next Sunday morning so shall have another go then . Although it will not be quite the same, it could be useful to have some aerial shots for the record- with or without campers .
I hope the opening went well sorry again I could not be with you all. --thanks for all the effort which went into event.

I just had to drop you a line to say how impressed I was with your Jordan Heights website.
You have done a huge amount of work and it was lovely to see the photographs. It must have been about 1953 or 54 when I last went there with the guides and brownies. I won my Queens Guide Award in 1955 and became a brownie guider soon after then in Merstham. I don't think I actually camped at the site it is too long ago to remember but I know we did quite often visit just for the day.
I did actually know Jo Jordan while I was a guide she was then the County Camp Adviser.
I keep in touch by email with my friend Rosemary who was my captain when I was a guide ( 3rd Redhill ) and I have told her about your website and even though she is now well into her eighties I am sure she will have a look and it will bring back many memories for her.
Very best wishes to you and your family and many happy times at Jordan Heights.
